As the Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, Mr. Jindal recognized the deep-rooted challenges of hunger and malnutrition. In 2006, he introduced a visionary Private Member’s Resolution titled “The Comprehensive Food and Nutrition Security Scheme” in the Lok Sabha — advocating food as a legally enforceable right for every Indian. Mr. Jindal’s key contributions included: Universal Access to Food: Pushed for food security as a fundamental right, accessible to all citizens. Nutritional Standards: Advocated for improved quality in food distribution, addressing both hunger and malnutrition.
